Product Description
Agrelo Alto is considered Mendoza’s best wine-producing region. The best-known fincas buy their grapes here, and many of the great producers are in this area. The soil is sandy and contains a large number of minerals that were washed down from the Andes by melt-waters over millions of years. A trickle irrigation system distributes the water from the rivers and groundwater lakes among the vineyards. We thus regularly obtain high-quality grapes, which we press in a winery boasting state-of-the-art wine-making equipment. Our wines are made from fully ripe grapes, because unlike other organic vintners we do not have to harvest them before they are completely ripe in order to avoid fungal infestation in the autumn – the use of fungicides being prohibited. Thanks to these advantages, the climate in Mendoza is unique. The grapes gathered in our first harvests and the wines we have produced so far have met with the approval of well-known oenologists in Argentina and Europe. Puro is made exclusively from bio-certified grapes from our own vineyard in Agrelo Alto.
A dark ruby red colour. The fruity bouquet has aromas of ripe, juicy black fruits, ripe cherries, plums and cassis notes from the Cabernet component. The palate is full-bodied and juicy with lots more complex ripe black and red fruits. It is muscular but with a certain softness and purity of fruit with a clean, lingering finish and refreshing acidity. A wine that shows Malbec doesn’t need to go solo.
