Mezcal Clase Azul made from Cenizo Agave, grows wild in the State of Durango where the extreme climate, the rich minerals of its soil, and the source of natural springs in the area, give particular force and complexity to its notes, making it an entirely different mezcal than what is produced in the rest of Mexico. The design of the bottle is inspired by black clay pottery, one of the most representative styles of Mexican folk art, whose detailed process enriches the beauty and quality of each piece.

El Jolgorio Barril uses the agave Barril, which is a rare subspecies of the Karwinskii agaves that grows wild at high elevations. The Barril piña is dense with sugars and very little water, which results in a Mezcal of great complexity. This Mezcal delicately balances sweetness, citrus, and a distinct minerality. It is earthy with hints of light smoke.

El Jolgorio Cuixe is made with the rare and wild agave Cuishe. Like its relatives agave Madrecuishe and Barril, this agave grows in a cylindrical, stalk-shaped piña, with leaves spreading at the top. It is often slightly smaller than Madrecuixe, but more dense. This Mezcal has an earthy scent, like wet clay. The taste is spicy with sublte hints of smooth smoke.

El Jolgorio Espadin is made with wild Espadin. Fans of Mezcal will taste the difference almost immediately. This wild Espadin produces an herbacious taste and it is a bit sharper with a hint of citrus. Like most other Espadin Mezcals, it is very approachable but its wild roots seems to heighten the intensity of the Espadin’s familiar flavors.

Agave Madrecuixe is a member of the Karwinskii species of agave, related to other species like Cuixe, Barril, and Bicuixe. It grows sparsely at higher elevations and has a cylindrical piña, with it’s leaves (or pencas) growing at a distinctly upward angle. Due to the agave’s dense core and relatively low water content, mezcal made from Madrecuixe often has a flavor profile high in minerality, with whisps of vegetation and floral notes.

El Jolgorio Mexicano shows aromas of roasted agave and maple. It is made agave Mexicano (Dobadaan), which grows to be quite large. This Mezcal is straightforward and right down the middle with hints of light smoke, citrus, and peppers.

El Jolgorio Pechuga is made using two distillations. During the second distillation, the mezcalero adds locally harvested fruit and spices, like pineapple, orange, and plantains. Also during the second distillation, the mezcalero hangs a raw turkey breast on the inside of the pot still in such a way that all of the vapor must pass over the meat before it becomes liquid Mezcal.

El Jolgorio Tepeztate is made with agave Tepeztate, which is one of the rarest agave. It takes a very long time for this agave to mature, sometimes upwards of 25-35 years. It is commonly found hanging horizontally from mountain cliffs, making it difficult to harvest. Tepeztate is truly a wild agave.

El Jolgorio Tobala is made from wild agave Tobala, one of the most prized of all agave. Growing wildly in high altitudes, its relatively tiny size yields limited quantities of intensely aromatic Mezcal. Due to its tiny size and long growing period (12-15 yrs) Tobala is increasingly rare. This Mezcal is very fresh and aromatic with rich heavy fruits on the bouquet. The taste is of mango and roasted agave and it is pleasantly viscous.

The Añejo, aged 13 months in American Oak, French Oak and bourbon casks, offers bitter-orange notes with hints of maple and clove.
