Sweets for the sweet: Aberlour has always made a subtle, almost delicate malt, although with a goodly hit of sherry-barrel oak to keep it from floating away. The non-chill filtered version foregoes the fine filtering that prevents whisky from clouding up when you add ice. It also sucks out just a little bit of the flavor. Without it, the Aberlour is perceptibly richer. A malt for a winter’s evening by the fire.

Roses, candyfloss, slightly buttery. Perfect balance of sherry and the malty, spicy, house character. The two elements are tightly combined, with the spicy flavours emerging slowly: nutmeg, aniseed and emphatic orange-flower. Complex and sophisticated.

More subtle and complex than the new 12 year old, and not as sweet. Creamy in texture and floral on the nose, with dried vanilla, gentle spice, nectarine, kiwi, plum, and lemon gum drops. Soft, elegant finish with a hint of mint. Great balance of a variety of flavors and lots of finesse. A well-crafted whisky!

Although it is a little spirity, once the initial power of the whisky has passed there are some very pleasant floral aromas. In fact, this is floral whisky from start to finish, almost like camomile tea.
DetailsA great creamy buttery whisky, lovely light caramel toffee, with the texture and flavours of Glenfarclas fudge.
DetailsThis whisky has a truly amazing nose, so fresh and vibrant with light esters and spice aromas. A great creamy buttery whisky with flavours of butterscotch toffee. The finish is long and very distinguished.
DetailsThe nose is fruity with some strong citrus scents emanating from the centre of the glass. After a while, a slight leathery aroma emerges. It is a very sweet whisky. The texture is almost like a good butter shortbread.
DetailsIf you are looking for the big Glenfarclas sherry flavour, you will not find it here. But this bottling is enticing because it is an exception in the collection. Possibly even a liquid alternative to a cigar.
DetailsAlthough light on the eye, this has a wonderful nose. Think big juicy apples and autumn orchard fruits. A fantastic palate cleansing whisky with elegant creamy finish.
DetailsPale gold in colour. Lovely delicate nose, vanillas, fresh orchard fruits and fresh pear notes. Sweet caramel, coconut and marzipan, very smooth. Nice long fresh finish.
DetailsThis is a light whisky with no heavy flavours. Instead, experience the effect of lots of fruit dancing across your palate, acting like little pins and needles of flavour.
DetailsIntense. It's a very elegant whisky with a very good balance of nuttiness, fresh fruit and some liquorice.
DetailsAntique bronze in colour. After the initial power, underlying caramel sweetness, smoky with a sherry glaze. Big sherry tones present, bitter cocoa beans, demerara sugar, what I would classify as a typical Glenfarclas style. Long bitter sweet finish again demerara sugar and a light citrus note, orange and lime zest coming through on the finish.
DetailsThis great, fresh whisky dances across your tongue, bursting with flavours of apples and pears, and a hint of kiwi fruit. Hints of vanilla are also present on the back of the tongue, with violet overtone. Well-balanced.
DetailsLight vanillas, soft cedar, and undertones of kiwi fruits. A delightful dram to have a drop of water in. Really releases a lot of orchard fruit flavours, also a hint of zestiness. An amazingly long finish, don't rush it.
