The palate is quite assertive with dry tannins, rendering this a slightly more masculine Cos that is quintessential Saint Estéphe. The bouquet shows Cremé de Cassis, blueberry liqueur, pen ink, graphite and hints of toast and vanillin. The palate is full and rich – although aged in 80% new oak, the wood is a subtle in the background. Hints of graphite and cedar intertwined with blackberry and briary fruit with great structure towards the finish.
