There’s a lot of Chardonnay for your buck with this offering from Bird in Hand out of the Adelaide hills. It’s a complex little number that shows smells of delicate ripe stone fruits, citrus, spice and toastiness on the bouquet. The elegant palate chimes in with more peach and melon flavours, a creamy texture, poised acidity, and a bright, refreshing finish.

This Bird In the Hand is definitely worth two in the bush as the saying goes. But honestly, this Adelaide Hills Chardonnay consistently over-delivers and makes us marvel at how they do it. It mixes up pure stone fruit with complexed nutty oak before a creamy palate of peach that’s textured and long.

The nose shows mixed citrus peel, green apples and frangipan flowers. The palate is highly refined with a line of very vibrant acidity. A touch of development is just starting to build some textural layers into the mid palate and a lovely roasted nut character from the subtly integrated French oak helps balance the mineral acidity on the finish and will leave your mouth watering.
