The Clare Valley doesn't always come up with the right answers with Cabernet Sauvignon, but in this vintage, did so in spades. The wine is full-bodied, with a classic array of black fruits and savoury/earthy tannins to provide texture and structure, the oak handling has also been spot on.

Impenetrable colour, purple hue; epic in its concentration and purity, the fruit is pure cassis seasoned with fine oak, and a touch of sage; the palate is juicy on entry, with the densely packed tannins barely having a voice with the succulent fruit on offer; will age with grace.
