Quite possibly the greatest expression of South African Chenin Blanc. DeMorgenzon’s Stellenbosch estate just keeps totting up the trophies, with their stunning Reserve Chenin Blanc being amongst the most lauded. Honeysuckle aromas with almond paste and beeswax, lanolin and vanilla extract fill the air. Manuka honey and sweet lemon notes on the palate support the broad, textural and impeccably balanced palate. Expansive and intellectual, this is a showstopping cuvée!

The Chenin Blanc is a rare pleasure as it is only produced in extremely limited quantities. One almost gets a sense of the Old World in this extraordinarily precise wine, as notes of fresh citrus acidity are contrasted by a bracing minerality reminiscent of crushed rock and a salty sea breeze.

Our Chenin Blanc grapes are sourced from Old Vines in Stellenbosch. To best preserve purity of fruit, berry bunches are hand-harvested in the early morning and whole bunch pressed directly to concrete eggs for natural fermentation. The concrete eggs are neutral in flavour and allow the wine to remain vibrant and to express itself fully. Old vines are not necessarily fruit forward but often bring tremendous layers and complexity to the palate.
