Placing your Order
When you are done shopping, simply click “View Basket” where you will be able to review and edit any of the items in your shopping basket. If you have a discount or promotion code this must be entered at this time as it cannot be entered later on.
Selecting “Proceed to Checkout” will take you to the Billing & Delivery section where you will be asked to enter your name, address and shipping address (if different). Next, you will head to “Payment Method” were you will enter your credit card details, and other details required to complete your purchase.
Selecting “Submit Order” will place your order. Within 24-48 hours of placing your order you will receive an email confirming that your order has been received. We will also send you another email notifying you when your order has been shipped, details of our tracking number and that we have charged your credit/debit card.
Multiple Shipping Addresses
Unfortunately, it is not possible to ship an order to multiple addresses. If you are shopping for people at different addresses you will have to place separate orders for each address which will also be charged separately.
To redeem a discount code/coupon, simply type it into the box at the top of your view cart page and press ‘apply coupon’ followed by ‘proceed to checkout’.
It is important to add your discount code at this time as discount codes cannot be added to your order during checkout.
Please note that only one discount code can be used per order. Additional conditions may apply so please read the terms and conditions supplied with the code/coupon.
A personalised gift message service is available on all orders. The charge for this service is £1.50. Orders being delivered outside the European Union will not have to pay the VAT element of the charge for this service. Simply Wines Direct will donate 50 pence (£0.50 GBP) to our nominated charity for every gift message purchased by our customers.
Please note, every endeavour shall be made to supply “bottle items” only as shown in our bottle illustrations, where applicable with gift boxes if naked stock is not available – we do not hold gift box stock only “naked” bottles. During periods of high demand, some items may not be immediately available with a gift box, so please email us to check if your order will be available with a gift box should this be essential. Should gift-boxed stock not be available “naked” bottles will be dispatched in order to avoid any delay to your delivery.
Payment for your order can be made using credit/debit cards or by bank transfer. Payment can be made on-line using our automated checkout service. You can also place your order on-line via our website and opt to make your payment by emailing us your telephone number or leaving it via our LiveChat service and we will call you back to take your payment details.

We accept all major credit/debit cards.
To pay using your Pay Pal account simply confirm this option during checkout and follow the on screen process to log into your Pay Pal account as usual. You will be returned to our website to complete checkout once payment has been confirmed.
We are pleased to accept bank transfers but have to charge a fee of £15 to cover bank charges for customers outside of the UK. If you accept this charge, please make your payment to the bank details we email you when the order has been confirmed.

We run SSL technology on our secure server that encrypts all personal and financial data (including your name and address and credit/debit card details) before transmitting it over the internet. If you are in any doubt whether or not you are accessing our secure server before submitting your personal information just look at the URL in the location line of your browser. All secure servers can be verified by the letters https at the start of the web address.
From time to time we may need to verify that you are the account holder. As these security checks are only ever implemented for your own protection please do not feel embarrassed. We may contact you to verify your order details, the delivery address and where required your identity.
To ensure that your credit/debit card is not being used without your consent and you are over the age of 18, we will validate your name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the order process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting our terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will not be affected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Simply Wines Direct website uses ‘session cookies’ and cannot work without them being enabled. Unless you check the box instructing your browser to remember your username and password these cookies will be deleted when you close your browser. The cookies will capture your first and last names, your email address and your customer ID. This information is needed in order to make your visit simple and more efficient. Simply Wines Direct will never pass any personal information on to any third party.
