Product Description
Casella Wines is an Australian family winery owned by Filippo and Maria Casella. They represent 6 generations of winemakers since 1820. The Australian business was established in 1965 with winery and vineyards located in Yenda, Australia. Yenda is in the Australian state of New South Wales, located in the heart of Australia’s grape growing region – South Eastern Australia – the region that made Australian wine famous. Filippo and Maria Casella, the founders of Casella Wines, immigrated to Australia from Sicily in 1957. Along with their hopes and dreams, they brought know-how acquired through three generations of grape growing and winemaking in Italy. Filippo was passionate about his wine and enjoyed sharing it with friends and family. He knew exactly how much hard work, cooperation and skill went into producing a great wine, and he instilled this knowledge in each of his children. It’s an approach they remain true to today. Casella remains very much a family business, with second- and third-generation family members all playing a part in this extraordinary success story. From humble beginnings, the Casella family has become Australia’s greatest wine producers.
[yellow tail] Chardonnay has delicious lifted aromas of fresh fruits like citrus, lemon and white peach with a light spice that continues on the palate. The perfect balance of citrus and peach flavours coats the mouth with a creamy mouth feel and persists to a long lingering finish of peach and white spice. This is a lovely fresh and zesty wine that is also refined and detailed.
