A defining philosophy. Since the beginnings of Maison Trénel, we’ve been driven by the search for authenticity for our wines. It shows itself in the fruits and the terroirs. For our wines we have chosen the best terroirs in Burgundy and Beaujolais. There are very few independent négociants left in Beaujolais, but the tireless work of the Trénel family means theirs is now one of the best, with long-established relationships with some the most emblematic growers in the region. Claude-Henri Trénel founded the brand back in 1928, but it was his son André who really worked with passion and determination to establish their reputation, living by the motto ‘we only do well what we know well!’ Trénel now produces Beaujolais in all of the village crus, but even the vines for their Beaujolais-Villages are 10 to 60 years old. Although Trénel is no longer family-owned (André’s nephew Bruno Chambe does still assist with estate management). Since 2015, the Maison Trénel has been managed by Mr Chapoutier, another great connoisseur of wines. Trénel’s renown is due both to its high standards in selecting wines, choosing only those which reflect our region’s finest Terroirs.
This Crémant possesses a brilliant gold color. The bouquet marries fresh aromas of acacia, green apple and white peach with buttery and nutty notes, due to its particularly long aging. It’s a gastronomic wine: round and very complex on the finish.
