Product Description
Situated at the base of the western slopes of Mount St. John, the tallest mountain in the Mayacamas Range, this sixty-one acre property is located in an alluvial fan containing rich volcanic soils. With ideal soils, microclimate and location, the estate’s potential was recognized by some of the first Napa Valley settlers and was planted to vineyards in the mid 1860’s. Today the property is home to the Staglins, fifty-one acres of vines, an underground winery, the historic homestead, a solar array and the many critters that inhabit this certified organic estate. A small family-owned Napa Valley winery devoted to producing great wines for great causes. Farmed organically and solar powered, Staglin Family Vineyard makes wines that are consistently rated among the top wines in each vintage.
Straw colored Chardonnay that shows an admirable restraint, a beautiful finesse and wonderful minerality. It offers up an expressive nose of white flowers and tropical fruits intermixed with notes of kaffir lime and citrus rind. The clean, medium-bodied palate continues the citrus and tropical theme with a creamy interplay of key lime and banana cream pies tinged with notes of Madagascar vanilla and a wisp of toasty oak. The finish is crisp.
