Product Description
Long before it was a drink, it was a town. Tequila in Mexico. Home in 1858 to Don Cenobio Sauza — an industrious and ambitious man who bought himself five stage coaches to deliver the local firewater all over the state. This wasn’t enough. Not for Don Cenobio Sauza. In 1873 he bought the Antigua Cruz Distillery and started to make his own tequila. Soon after, he despatched his first shipment to the US, and the tequila export trade was born. Sauza was the first to bring tequila to the world and continues to work with the Mexican government to define what tequila is today. Tequila is produced from the sugar of the Blue Agave plant.
Pale golden in color. Yeasty, musky cane stalk, honey, and geranium aromas. A brisk entry leads to a dryish light-to-medium body of cider vinegar, caramel, grilled pepper and white ash flavors. Finishes with a spiky, hot pepper and wet cement fade.
