Product Description
Since the early 19th century Paul Jaboulet Aine has been synonymous with quality wine in the Rhone. In 1834, Antoine Jaboulet (1807 – 1864) started working the land in this region, creating a lasting link between the Jaboulet name and the Rhone over the generations. For almost two centuries, the Jaboulet family has shared a common passion for the Rhône Valley, its history, its terroir, its exceptional people and wines. The enduring quality of our wines is a result of the high esteem in which we hold our people and vines and the arts of vinification, blending and maturing. We are constantly striving to achieve excellence in all our products and in each vintage. We aim for optimum oenological rigour and vineyard management while respecting the environment. This is why Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné is using sustainable agriculture. Our strategy is based on giving added value to our products and our brands within the segment of the world’s finest wines. Detailed profiles show our various classified vintages among the Icônes, the Domaines, the vins de Vignerons and the Incontournables. In 2006, the Frey family from Chateau La Lagune in Bordeaux saw the potential in Jaboulet‘s vineyards when they bought the estate and swiftly implemented sweeping changes, bringing a new sense of energy and purpose to this historical producer. In what has been described as one of the great turnarounds in wine, the Frey family – and winemaker Caroline Frey, in particular – has restored Jaboulet to its position as one of the Rhone’s most important wineries. Since the 2006 takeover, Caroline Frey has put more emphasis on greater fruit expression, dramatically reducing the amount of new oak to around only 20% for the reds, and to negligible proportions for the whites. Given Jaboulet’s important historical legacy in France, wine lovers have welcomed with open arms Ms Frey’s changes and the company’s return to the top of the quality tree. We are proud of our past and eager to embrace the future, and we invite you to discover the excellence of Paul Jaboulet Aîné.
