Product Description
Cantina Tollo was founded in 1960 from the initiative of a small group of people, who wanted to give value to an old tradition and try with enthusiasm, a new experience. Every choice, initiative, and innovation, have been made to achieve excellence in quality. Cantina Tollo’s wines have their roots in a territory with a vocation for grape growing in which the sun, gentle breezes from the Adriatic Sea and winds from the Maiella mountains create an ideal microclimate. Abruzzo, the so-called “green region” of Europe, offers the enotourist unique and spectacular itineraries enabling him to rediscover nature in enchanting places and experience the enogastronomical traditions of a territory with a thousand faces. Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Cerasuolo, Trebbiano d’Abruzzo and Pecorino (an autochthonous wine) can be appreciated more if you know the territory from which they came. In 1962, the first great step was taken: the wine-making methods. After ten years came the bottling, the invention of a brand and the creation of a new identity to introduce Cantina Tollo to the world, the co-operative has developed into the impressive entity it is today because from the outset the founding members dedicated themselves to quality. Over the last decades, Tollo have worked tirelessly and invested substantially to improve the quality of the grapes and subsequently the wines they produce. A tribute to the quality of life for a promise Cantina Tollo always kept: to tell a story through its wines: Trebbiano, Cerasuolo and Montepulciano d’Abruzzo. Cantina Tollo Mission never forgets the relationship between man and earth, so it is natural to transfer this philosophy in its products while using the latest technology. In each barrel, with the wine for ageing, there are thousands of loving gestures, moods, feelings, the changing of the seasons, the effort of one year and the great expectations.
A light ruby-red colour with orange hints. A delicate and intense bouquet of cherries and plums with pronounced violet notes. On the palate, dry, rounded and harmonious with plenty of further red fruit flavours leading to a spicy finish.
