Product Description
The words that best describe Maison M. Chapoutier. An Estate that nurtures its vineyards with the greatest respect for natural balance and terroir since 1808. The family motto “Fac et Spera” – do and hope – says it all. Two words that sum up all the patience and daring that this art demands: patience in relation to nature which presides; daring for the winemaker, who observes, chooses and assists. The wine will be the faithful expression of this alchemy. For the last two hundred years in the Rhone Valley, and today also in the Roussillon and in Australia, Chapoutier has been producing some of the greatest wines: Hermitage, Côte Rôtie, Chateauneuf du Pape, Saint-Joseph, Crozes Hermitage, Luberon. Our own vineyards and the single vineyards we select are cultivated either organically or biodynamically to respect the terroir. Michel Chapoutier maintains a philosophy of biodynamic viticulture. Michel is an inspiring and visionary leader who does not hesitate to develop breakaway solutions in line with his convictions. He is passionate about revealing the expression of the site and soil. He combines the history and tradition of the past with innovation, daring and creativity. Core values at the heart of M Chapoutier include respect of nature, daring to open new horizons and generosity of spirit.
Full yellow robe; the bouquet is richly endowed, but not yet out and about. It carries a brioche, baked bread aroma, with white raisin, denoting the sunshine. It holds well, has a mineral angle, with considerable potential. The palate is elegant, rich and rolling, a very successful style; there is a measured richness at its heart, with dried fruits, more grippy sidelines, rendering its structure serious on the finish.
