Janneau was founded in 1851 by Pierre Etienne Janneau and is one of the oldest great Armagnac houses. It was passed through 4 generations of the Janneau family until it was bought by In the early 70’s Cognac Martell purchased he family property and important investments in a new distillery and aging cellars expanded the maison to the dimensions we know today. Janneau is home to one of the most important production plant and storage facility of the Armagnac region. In 1993, the Giovinettis bought Janneau with the intention of returning the house to its original status as a family-run business paying meticulous attention to detail and quality. Janneau sets itself apart from other producers of Armagnac by using two types of distillation: “continuous” and “double”. Today Janneau is managed by Fabio Giovinetti and continues to lead the field in the Armagnac sector in terms of quality and innovation.
