Product Description
Still in family hands since it was founded, the Glenfarclas Distillery is one of Speyside’s independent whisky producers. The Grant family have been running Glenfarclas since 1860, producing an individual Speyside malt that many whisky enthusiasts number as one of their favourites. The water source is melt water from the slopes of Ben Rinnes which runs through granite and heather before reaching Glenfarclas (meaning ‘the valley of green grass’). With a long history of bottlings stretching back to the early 20th Century, both proprietary and independent, Glenfarclas is keenly collected. Creating a great malt whisky is a time-honoured process. Here in the heart of Speyside, Glenfarclas has cherished the skills and traditions of fine malt whisky making for over 165 years, handing them down through six generations.
The colour is a beautiful rich amber. The nose is a tantalising mix of honey, sweet fruits and ripe melon – a fresh whisky with a lot to offer. On initial tasting, this big, powerful whisky is rich in sherry with some walnut flavour at the back of the palate. The finish is definitely buttery, like butterscotch dessert. A beautiful whisky that leaves a silky flavouring that coats your mouth and throat.
