José Maria da Fonseca is one of Portugal’s premier wine producers. Since its inception in 1834, the family has shared a passion for winemaking that is evident in the high standards set for viticulture and vinification processes. The J.M. da Fonseca portfolio comprises a range of wines made from traditional indigenous grape varieties grown in some of Portugal’s top viticultural regions, including Domini from the Douro Valley in the north and Periquita from Terras do Sado, near Lisbon on the southwest coast. Twin Vines, from José Maria da Fonseca, is a refreshing white wine from the Vinho Verde DOC in northwest Portugal. It celebrates the May 2007 birth of twin daughters to António Maria Soares Franco Jr., the newest members of the José Maria da Fonseca family. Together they represent the newest members and 8th generation of the Soares Franco family, owners of this historic Portuguese wine company.
