Dynasty stills, the family Francoli took its first steps into the world of stills in 1875, when Luigi Guglielmo Francoli began, in Campodolcino (Val San Giacomo – SO), his early experiments with a rudimentary still, and gave birth to the first drops of his brandy. Gabriel, William and Bartholomew, sons of Luigi Guglielmo Francoli founding the Brothers Distillery Francoli. Obtained the permission of the famous “distillation daily” paying, day by day, the excise on brandy that was being produced. The production was only a few tens of liters, for family and for friends, that the whole area soon learned to appreciate. Numerous awards were, however, even from beyond the local borders. The passion involved distilling the children of Gabriel and William. The first two founded a distillery in Ponti Sul Mincio in the province of Mantua; the latter (William and Severo) did the same, but undertook the way to the Piedmont, Ghemme (NO), where they founded the distillery in 1922 Francoli. In 1948 William was joined by his nephew Louis, the son of Severus, who later, in 1951, he decided to acquire the business and founded the distillery in Ghemme Luigi Francoli, where they were bottled and sold the best grappa in the area. The increase in the work of Luigi suggested to call them the 4 younger brothers who, one after another joined him. Thus was born the fourth generation of distillers Francoli.
Clear,pale golden with faint green tinge. The bouquet shows floral honeyed elderflower with faint cut grassy and mint. The palate again, floral with honeyed sweetness. Not as rich as some other elderflower liqueurs with subtle mint seemingly taming the degree of lychee and honeyed sweetness. Floral elderflower and cut grass light citrus acidity on the finish.
