Product Description
Based in the village of St-Aubin, the Roux family own 70 hectares of vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, Côte de Beaune and Côte Chalonnaise. Domaines Roux dates back to 1885, and the current generation, brothers Sebastien and Mathieu, have propelled Domaines Roux into one of the leading producers in Burgundy. The current team in charge of production consists of brothers Mathieu (winemaking) and Sebastian (the business side of the domaine) and their drive and energy has seen a notable rise in quality. A fantastic, modern cellar has been built overlooking St Aubin village and the business’ negociant arm extended to include ever more wines. The domaine owns vineyards in most of the main appellations, all the way up to Grand Cru.
The nose offers strawberry, cherry and blackcurrant fruit, later evolving into cooked prunes, peppery notes and mushroom. It is lively and structured in the mouth with a well-rounded and supple backbone. Tannins and fruit go hand in hand, with great balance on the finish.
