The climate of north-eastern Tasmania is certainly cool with many similarities to some of the great winemaking regions of Europe. The Tamar Ridge vineyard was established by Josef Chromy in 1994 when a decision to establish a vineyard in the West Tamar region was made. In its first two years in the market, Tamar Ridge Wines have made some major strides in establishing its reputation as a producer of premium wines. A string of wine show successes and glowing reviews from the Australian wine media provide ample reinforcement that the winemaking team are getting it right.
Bright, pale straw with tinges of green. Fresh and appealing with hints of lime juice, a touch of passionfruit and tropical fruits and nuances of spicy nutmeg and allspice complexity. Fresh, crisp and appealing with loads of zesty citrus lime and lemon fruit. The palate is long and narrowly defined running straight down the centre of the tongue to a finish that sings with crisp acidity.
