The Castillo Clavijo range is produced by Bodegas Criadores de Rioja, a Bodegas which typifies twenty-first century Rioja in its careful balancing of tradition and innovation. The winery was established in 2000 with a view to modernise the production of Rioja wines whilst working with the scores of small, local growers to make wines that reflect the quality and history of Rioja. This is a privileged location from which to view and understand our land, with its diversity of soils, grape varieties, terrain and climates. It is a historical testimony of more than 2,000 years’ coexistence between man and the vine, of people dedicating their lives to tending the vineyards with toil, persistence and passion. With Bodegas Castillo Clavijo you will discover honest wines, faithfully representing the traditional style of Rioja, enhanced by the vision and personality of our young winemaker, Paloma Redondo. Authentic wines made from and with the heart of Rioja.
The Reserva is aged for up to 24 months in French and American oak casks to give this wine real complexity, with ripe mature fruit, lots of spice and vanilla oak flavours.
