Brandymel is an old, traditional mixture of honey and arbutus unedo spirit flavoured with mountain herbs and has been popular with the Algarve’s hill people for 53 years now. The careful blending of all the highly selected ingredients is followed by ageing for a minimum of six months in oak casks already used to age port. It is then filtered and bottled in the traditional heat-engraved bottle.
Reflective burnished golden colour. Intensive honey aromas, also meadowsweet, musk, linden flower, camomile and sweet wild herbs. Luscious and viscous on the palate, the spirit lifts the mouth-coating texture giving an underlying firmness and touch of heat without burn. Lovely balance and superb length.
