Annex Kloof Wines is a family project belonging to the Basson Family in the beautiful Paardeberg area in the Swartland. It all started four generations back when great grandfather Matthys planted the first vineyards around 1907 and started making wine in 1910. In 2005 Hugo Basson, who inherited his great-grandfathers wine making talent, decided to start making his own wine again and today there are 5 grandsons to fill the shoes of their dads and continue the AnnexKloof legacy. Annex Kloof is the name of Hugo’s great-grandfather’s original farm which exists since 1906. The name has the beautiful descriptive meaning of “where the gorges meet”.
Elegant, yet powerful. A full-bodied red wine with the typical flavours of black plum and mulberry. Fine, well-structured tannins and complexity of fruit on the palate.
