Since 1826, from father to son, we have been following a philosophy with simple principles: A great wine is made with perfect quality grapes yielding an expression of the earth. Since 1979, Odile and Alain Jaume continues the family tradition with the creation of Domaine Grand Veneur. At its beginning, the vineyard spread over 9 hectares and then grows over time to reach 78 hectares of vines in the most beautiful appellations of the south of this region: Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Lirac, Côtes du Rhône. In 2003, the Clos de Sixte vineyard was acquired in the neighboring Lirac appellation which is part of one of the fifteen crus of this region and produced a few kilometers in front of Châteauneuf-du-Pape. Its terroir is certainly one of the most beautiful of the Rhone with trays very similar to those that already owns the domain. The river has, millions of years ago, built the basement of the left and right banks by depositing the sandy clays and the famous rolled pebbles. During these years, the family also expanded. Today, Sebastien and Christophe gradually ensure the prosperity of the exploration. Associated with the family know-how, they are leveraging their wine and wine knowledge to enhance the quality of the terroir.
Deep red-purple in color. The bouquet shows aromas of red and black fruits (kirsch, blackberry). Ample, sweet, and spicy. The tannic structure is harmonious and elegant. Notes of slight licorice and vanilla. Nice length and a lot of complexity on the finish.
