The Hatozaki lighthouse, the oldest stone lighthouse in Japan, has been a guide for sailors navigating the turbulent waters before the port of Akashi since 1620. It is a symbol of dependability, openness to the wider world and trade which enables the exchange of goods and ideas. We chose this lighthouse to represent the perfect icon for our distillery.

Cosmo, their latest opus, is not a single malt but a blended malt composed of course with Mars but also various Scottish single malts. Whilst this blend is very mature, with beautiful assertive notes, it has also managed to maintain the ardour of its younger days. The blending here is the work of a great master.

The main feature of the all-malt process is that top-quality barley malt is used instead of corn in the Coffey still, resulting in a whisky made entirely from malt. All-malt whisky, made from barley alone and blended from malts matured over long periods of time, is blessed with a deep scent and mellow taste.

While the Nikka Coffey Malt is produced from 100% malt in a single distillery, it is not technically a single malt whisky due to its distillation method in Coffey stills, which are normally used for grain whisky production. This rare 100% malt bottling offers a surprisingly rich texture with deep oaky notes.

Nikka Straight from the barrel is no exception. Comprised of blended single malts from both the Miyagikyo and Yoichi distilleries along with an element of grain whisky, it is finally matured in first-fill bourbon casks.

With its subtle balance between fruit and fine peaty, the Nikka Pure Malt Black offers a rare complexity. The depth of its aromatic palate results from a selection of very different whiskeys, combining elegance fruity malts Miyagikyo with typical smoky Yoichi.

The aromas of peat and smoke dominate the aromas of Pure Malt White, enriched with iodine and slightly vegetal notes. Considered an intense malt, it is the most peaty of Nikka whiskey range.

Released in 2020, this no-age statement Taketsuru bottling is a blend of malts aged 10 years on average in different types of oak casks. A high percentage of Miyagikyo malt gives a fresh fruity character, joined by mature aromas from an important sherry cask influence.

The Togouchi 12 years is a blended whisky with a Scottish and Canadian character but also a typical Japanese soul. Aged in oak barrels and made with a good percentage of peaty single malts, this whisky expresses intense woody and cereal aromas mixed with delicate notes of peat.
