This Cognac, which we have called Sérénité, is a blend of well-matured distillates from the best area in Cognac, Grande Champagne. In addition to the traditional grape Ugni Blanc (85%), a generous proportion of the rare Folle Blanche grape (15%) has also been used, further enhancing the quality of this superior Cognac. The oldest elements have spent 50 years in oak casks from the Limousin region of France. In conjunction with the slightly younger components, this gives an average age of around 30 years.

Clear orange colour with yellow glints. On the bouquet there is a nice balance of candied fruits and nuts, figs, dried apricots and prune. This is followed by the soft, woody aromas, rancio and cigar box notes, so typical of Grande Champagne cognacs. It is on the palate, however, where the 1988 Vintage comes into its own. A smooth and supple palate with finesse and complexity, it has an exceptionally long finish.
